@the_futurephysio: one of the first things you learn in kinesiology — most knee pain doesn't start in the knee 👇 as a second year kin student this was genuinely one of the most surprising things I learned early on. when your glute medius isn't doing its job properly your hip drops every time you step, squat, or land. that hip drop changes the angle your femur sits at, which changes how your kneecap tracks, which changes how the entire knee joint loads on every single movement. do that thousands of times a day and the knee starts to break down — not because anything is wrong with the knee itself, but because the hip above it isn't stable enough. the two exercises here are where the research points for fixing this. single leg glute bridge isolates one side at a time so you can't compensate. lateral band walk loads the glute med specifically — the muscle that keeps your hip level when you're on one leg. this isn't clinical advice — I'm a student, not a physio. but this is what the evidence supports and what I'm learning in school. if your knee pain is severe please see a professional. if it's something you've been managing for a while — start here. #futurephysio #kneepain #kneepainrelief #injuryprevention #hipstability
