@cbsnews: The J-1 visas for 23 Palestinian doctors who matched into U.S. residency programs have been stuck in administrative processing since June. The group, which was set to start their programs earlier this summer, now cannot enter the country, despite the fact that more than half of them have been in the U.S. in the past year and have active visas to visit as tourists. Some lawmakers have stepped in, urging the State Department to process the documents as soon as possible. In a statement, the department said, "In every visa case, we will take the time necessary to ensure an applicant does not pose a risk to the safety and security of the United States."
