I also feel using the saying “plenty of horror movies use the same trope!” Falls flat because it’s so plainly obvious. Yes, there wouldn’t be a story if they didn’t put a character in a position where they are “powerless”. Here’s my rebuttal though, using Serena instead of a completely original character is genuinely awful. Serena is a character who has made it to the FINALS of a Pokemon battle competition with only three Pokemon to her disposal. Serena is an extremely talented trainer so for her to not have any of her Pokemon with her while she’s casually traversing the wild is mischaracterization. Even if she had “retired” why would she go out without her pokemon?? In pokemon lore it is EXTREMELY encouraged to bring pokemon with you in the wild because even in pokemon lore there are constant stories of people ending up like Serena in the mod. So constantly saying over and over that “movies did the same thing!” Doesn’t help because the difference is making a character dumb in the movie vs completely altering and mischaracterizing a character. What would’ve been better if the creepypasta used an entirely original character rather than Serena so they can get away with the fact that this character is a beginner with no pokemon or something. And then saying “make an argument without using the pokemon canon” legit is AWFUL because that basically says “don’t use evidence in your argument and I might just listen” Also idk why you attempted to sorta bring in sexism into the argument by saying “but ppl r complaing about the ONE GIRL not bringing her pokemon” gf/bf in this universe r legit normal ass ppl. They don’t have pokemon like the rest of normal npcs in pokemon. And celibi (mythical pokemon, just correcting you) died on mt silver because of the blizzard. This is completely plausible as the only source of heat (typhlosion) was also dying from the blizzard + reds pikachu essentially slaughtering it. The reason why the unowns were depicted as “vultures” is because they were apart of another creepypasta “the unown king” won’t only that but even in the dex unowns are LITERALLY unknown and there’s not much information regarding them besides they can warp reality.

real anwser here they didn't feel like add Pokemon because the creatures in the mod would've been washed if any character you played as had a full team, but jokes aside they probably removed most trainers from having Pokemon because it adds helplessness because it a horror mod
