@uraan_stories_official: Title This 800-Year-Old Clock Awakened a Robot Band at Hour Six. More than 800 years ago, Al-Jazari designed a giant castle-shaped water clock containing five human-shaped mechanical musicians. For the first five hours, the musicians remained completely motionless. Then the sixth hour arrived. A hidden mechanism released stored water onto a small waterwheel. The rotating wheel powered a camshaft, and its raised cams activated levers connected to the musicians’ arms. The drummers began striking, the cymbal player moved, and the silent figures suddenly became a mechanical musical performance. The clock also opened one of twelve doors every hour and used two mechanical falcons to drop metal balls into sounding vessels. No electricity, electronics, or modern motor powered it—only water, gravity, valves, pulleys, cams, and precisely arranged mechanical linkages. The musicians also performed at the ninth and twelfth hours, making the sixth hour their first performance of the day. #AlJazari #CastleClock #AncientRobots #EngineeringHistory #HistoryTok
