BEGGING you to check out Schwarzkopf color remover. I’ve done it two separate times. It’s worked so incredibly well. The first time I was removing 7+ years blue black PERMANENT color. It doesn’t smell like rotten eggs. Obvi everyone will have different results but I felt like it didn’t impact the quality of my hair either. I’ve used oops, vitamin c + head and shoulders, and the argan oil color remover those didn’t work for me either.

Something that is non damaging: Heand and shoulders and vitamin C (you can use like an EmergenC packet) mix it together into a paste it’ll puff up. Put it all over and put a Walmart bag/showercap on to keep it moist. Leave it on as long as it’s wet and as you can stand it, rinse with HOT hot water. It makes your hair feel so clean and good and doesn’t fry it! You can keep doing it over a couple days taking breaks to rebuild the oil in your hair and it’s the most non abrasive option! Has worked on my brown box dye as well as bright reds!

Hello I know you have a lot of unsolicited advice in your comments rn but I recently went from black box die back to blonde- ignore all the comments about color remover. It doesn’t frfr work the way you’re gonna want it to with black box dye and it’s just going to cause more unnecessary damage- pending how light you wanna go- just bleach it girl. And wait as long as you possibly can before bleaching it again literally. Good luck soldier

As a girlie who went from black box dye to pretty much white my go to is the colorfix argan oil color remover. It lowkey smells like cheddar cheese ruffles but it truly is worth it

I just did color oops on my black box dye and yes my hair is an orange red now so now I will bleach and then power lift, yes its smells horrible but it does work

As someone who just went from black to brown, use One n Only Argan Oil Color Fix. I did two rounds then colored with light golden brown. It’s not light, but it is brown!

one thing I noticed when you did your test strand you didnt saturat it enough. what you need is make it as saturated as possible with the bleach/lightener cuz once it dries it deactivate and doesn't do anything anymore. and if needed reapply.. hope this helps🥰 (ps i worked at sallys and I would recommend asking a stylist about it rather than a sally employee. most of them i worked with really didnt know what they were talking about😅)

I can’t lie ermmmm it stopped smelling after the first day. I scrubbed for 10-15 mins and thennnnn I rinsed for the 20. I sat in that shower for an hour scrubbing. And I used the granier sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner and it’s heavily fragranced like avocado oil 🤷♀️
