After a summer of painting, organizing, rearranging, and pouring my heart into every little detail, my classroom makeover is almost finished. There are only a few small projects left before I get to welcome a new group of 7th graders next week! One thing that matters most to me isn’t the décor. It is the student hygiene cabinet. Knowing my students can quietly grab deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, or other essentials without asking, without embarrassment, and without fear of being teased creates a sense of dignity that every child deserves. Several girls told me they were relieved they didn’t have to walk to the other side of the school to go to the office for pads or tampons, and that alone made every effort worthwhile. Unfortunately, I don’t have much left from last year, so restocking it is one of my biggest goals before students arrive. If you’ve asked about my classroom wishlist, it’s linked in my bio. Thank you for following along the last few years and cheering on this little classroom in rural Kentucky. I can’t wait to show you the finished space. #TeacherTok #ClassroomMakeover #MiddleSchoolTeacher #backtoschoolcheck #clearthelist - @thegingeravenger_
