回复 @Johi Sheikh During the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, millions of residents from the reservoir area were relocated due to land and villages being submerged as the water levels rose. The relocated populations, often referred to as the “Three Gorges migrants,” were resettled in various places, primarily as follows: Local Resettlement: Some migrants remained close to the Three Gorges reservoir area, resettling on nearby higher ground or in areas that were not submerged. Many of these individuals were rural residents who continued their agricultural activities in the new locations. Cross-Province Resettlement: Another portion of the migrants was relocated to other provinces. Major destination provinces included economically developed coastal areas like Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Fujian, as well as nearby regions in Sichuan and Chongqing. Cross-province resettlement often provided new job opportunities, and some migrants received vocational training to help them adapt to their new environments. Urban Resettlement: To make better use of labor resources, some migrants were resettled in cities like Chongqing, Wuhan, and Yichang, where they received urban residency status and job placements in factories or service industries. This group of migrants transitioned from traditional agricultural roles to urban livelihoods, entering the industrial and service sectors and adapting to city life. Voluntary Migration: A number of migrants chose their own destinations after receiving compensation. Many opted to relocate to economically developed areas such as the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions, seeking job and development opportunities on their own. The Three Gorges resettlement was an extensive initiative, involving significant policy support, funding, and training measures to help migrants adjust to their new environments. Over the years, most migrants have resettled and rebuilt their lives, though challenges remain in areas such as cultural adaptation, employment, and social integration. @AGREATSOUL 宏灵 @AGREATSOUL 宏灵 #🇨🇳 #Chongqing #ThreeGorges #Sanxia #Homeland
