this way or no way you’ll need: - 2 dates - 1 egg - 1 cup (240ml) any milk - 1/2 cup (40g) rolled oats - pinch of sea salt (for the peanut toffee sauce): - 1tbsp smooth peanut butter (or any smooth nut butter!) - 2tsp honey / maple syrup - 30ml (2-3tbsp) any milk (to serve): - 1 banana, sliced lengthways - small knob of butter for frying - dark chocolate, finely chopped method: 1. begin by manually tearing the dates into a few pieces and discarding the pip (or you can chop finely but honestly there’s no need). 2. place the dates, egg, milk, oats and sea salt in a small sauce pan and place on a low to medium heat. 3. begin whisking right away continuously until you start to see the oats are releasing a little steam. 4. lower the heat and continue whisking until the oats begin to thicken. you can break up and squash the dates as you go (they will eventually soften enough and break up). 5. meanwhile, melt the butter in a seperate small frying pan on a medium heat. place the banana slices face down onto the pan and fry for a few minutes until golden brown and caramelised. 6. carefully flip over and cook for another couple of minutes. 7. meanwhile, keep whisking the porridge. 8. prepare the toffee sauce by placing the peanut butter, milk and honey in a small bowl and mix until throughly combined (it will come together eventually i promise!). 9. once the oats have thickened to the consistency you like, remove from the heat. 10. serve right away in a medium sized bowl and carefully place the caramelised banana on top. 11. spoon over the peanut sauce wherever you like! 12. sprinkle the dark chocolate all over… enjoy xxx🍌🍯🍫 ##breakfast##oatmeal##porridge##breakfastideas
