Npc Airplanes are quite weird in story mode, idk exactly if im correct but if your in an interior, the pilot of the plane despawns but not the plane itself, so the plane starts falling to the ground and explodes, thats why you can hear explosion sounds whilst inside interiors in story mode, this doesnt happen in online because npc airplanes dont spawn there
