@namiscloset: Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) Origin: Australia Breed Group: Herding Height: 17–20 inches (43–51 cm) Weight: 35–50 lbs (16–23 kg) Life Expectancy: 12–16 years Coat: Short, dense, weather-resistant double coat Colors: Blue, blue mottled, blue speckled, with or without black, tan, or white markings Energy Level: Very high Trainability: Extremely intelligent and eager to learn Exercise Needs: 1–2+ hours of vigorous physical and mental activity daily Interesting Facts Developed in the 1800s to drive cattle across Australia's rugged terrain. The breed was created by crossing drover dogs with Dingoes, resulting in exceptional endurance and toughness. Puppies are born mostly white and develop their blue or red speckled coat as they mature. Famous for their "heeler" instinct—they naturally nip at the heels of livestock to move them. Highly loyal and often form a particularly strong bond with one person. One of the smartest dog breeds, excelling in obedience, agility, herding, scent work, and canine sports. Can become destructive or develop unwanted behaviors if they don't receive enough exercise or mental stimulation. Naturally alert and make excellent watchdogs. Their dense double coat sheds year-round, with heavier seasonal shedding. The world's longest-lived dog on record, Bluey, was an Australian Cattle Dog who lived 29 years and 5 months. #BlueHeeler #AustralianCattleDog #HerdingDog #WorkingDogs #DogFacts
