I had a property there yes, for 12 yrs, back in the 80's, used to spend many hours skiing on that dam, after Anc stepped in ,the dam became worse, no maintenance. Shamefull.

If am not wrong...there was a R100million budget that was used to clean the dam until the provincial government, allegedly, cancelled it. My question is WHY????

I think a professional team need to come in now. It’s really becoming an eyesore for us weekend warriors taking the drive out there for scenery and beauty, but that aspect seems to be fading away.

Salvinia molesta can be Brocken down into a super compost using vermicomposting. That is using earth worms. This type of composting is mainly done in India where there is high population. This dam is a gold mine.

Domestic and Farm Animals
Ducks and geese: Readily graze on the soft green leaves and tender shoots.
Chickens: Chopped water hyacinth is often used as a nutritious green feed supplement.
Cattle and pigs: Can eat processed or fresh water hyacinth as part of alternative fodder. 😁 Get farmers involved, once the government sees there's money to be made: all hands will be on deck 😅

How do you intend to clean up the bottom of the dam? Phytoplankton is the fastest growing organism, this will continue reproducing every second.let’s create a demand for fresh / decomposed phytoplankton then you will see many offtakers investing in this project including the govt.
