Screw: A long, rotating metal shaft inside the barrel. It transports plastic pellets forward, melts them through friction and heat, mixes the molten plastic, and injects it into the mould.
Barrel: A strong metal cylinder that houses the screw. It guides the plastic material as it is heated and melted before injection.
Heater Band: Electric heating elements wrapped around the outside of the barrel. They provide the heat needed to melt the plastic to the correct processing temperature.
