Jonah Hernandez, a 2-year veteran of the Las Cruces Police Department, was fatally stabbed while responding to a trespassing call on February 11, 2024. During the incident, he was attacked by a man named Armando Silva, who had a history of violent crime and mental illness. A bystander witnessed the attack, shot and killed Silva, and an additional bystander used the officer's radio to call for emergency help. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Hernandez died from a stab wound to the neck.

Then people hate cops when they’re always on edge during stops because people do this. If you are getting stopped just listen to what the officer is telling you because this is the random stuff that just happens out of nowhere.

This happened in Las Cruces NM, which is wild I use to live a few hours away from there. But unfortunately he did not make it, he was a cop for 2 years, with 2 sons, and a wife. Really sad to hear about this
