I was dropped deep into the Amazon to discover the source of the Coppename river and become the first to travel it’s entire length A small team of 4, dropped by helicopter and then left with no means of evacuation Kayaks, paddles and machetes, making our way upstream and then into the jungle to search for the true source Jungle bacteria infection that spread amongst the team Hunting and gathering as we go, eating piranha, stingray and wolf-fish But also sharing the jungle with jaguar, caiman, electric eel, snakes and spiders Hauling the kayaks over trees and boulders carrying 50kg each and paddling down white water for hundreds of kilometres Nights were spent hanging from a hammock in the canopy, over a jungle that never sleeps. We then summited the highest mountain in Suriname in the fastest recorded time We went 34 days without seeing any other people, other than indigenous markings from thousands of years ago 37 days later, we completed a new Guinness World First Record as we paddled out into the Atlantic Ocean Follow for the next mission
