I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and I wanted to take ashwaganda because I have high stress levels. She told me I can’t take any one that because it could affect my thyroid function when taking the Levothyroxine. I don’t know what else to take to help with my stress/cortizol

I begged to be tested .. she said a diagnosis of hasimotos wasn’t going to change the treatment I was already on… just levothyroxin 🙄

A basic ultrasound and blood test found the problem after 9 years of arguing with multiple specialists. I needed an immediate thyroidectomy. Maybe if doctors took patients seriously it would help patients get diagnosed properly.

My case study started with my TSH being low, tested TPO and it was 4,400. Normal range on that test was <30. Im now at 231 on TPO. Loved Armour, but bc of FDA, now taking NP thyroid. Doing great on NP. Got diagnosed with adrenal failure later and on hydrocortisone 10 mg morning/ 5 mg afternoon. Try to stay dairy, soy and gluten free. I take several supplements. I feel like the ones that have helped me the most are NAD, LDN, CQ10, B12 injections, selenium, vitamin C for preventing UTI’s and staying away from sugar. I get my ferritin, TIBC tested along with thyroid panels. I do not recommend Levothyroxine. High weight gain and I would try to go as natural as possible, thus the NP or Armour if you can afford it. My insurance just stopped covering Armour. I was a big Zumba exerciser, now do lie impact walking, or bike, not high cardio due to my adrenal issues. It’s a juggle and some days are good, some are bad. Do alot of research. I have a great endocrinologist, and he is open to a lot but I’ve done a lot on my own to learn what is best for me.

So I’m shedding a lot of hair having trouble regulating body temperature. I’m always cold. I had TSHT324 the antibodies and TPO all done. The TPO result was 15 and the antibodies was 16. The rest of the thyroid panel was “” within normal range, any advice my mom had thyroid issues, and my sister has in her thyroid recently.

I asked my dr to test for hashimotos and she told me it didn't matter. she said that if I have hypo I probably have hashimotos and there is nothing you can do that I am not already doing. I also asked to change meds from levothyroxin cause I have been taking for 15 years with no changes. she said that was the best meds for hypo so to stay on it

My T3 isn’t low - it was a 2.5 with 2.3 being the cutoff for “low”. What lifestyle changes for Hashimotos?
