After more than 20 years as a pediatrician, I can tell you this: neither personality is “better.” Being cautious, slow to warm up, or shy isn’t a flaw. It isn’t something that needs to be “fixed.” It’s a temperament, not a character defect. Yes, we celebrate those sweet moments when a child finally decides we’re safe enough for a high five or a cuddle. ❤️ But we also see the quiet bravery of the child who watches, thinks, and takes their time. Your child’s worth is not measured by how quickly they trust a stranger.
