@edgeo_ofthematrix: Just the fact that she was told he would sue the police and she said "thats fine" should be £4000 out of her pocket 😳🤡🚔👩🏻✈️👩🏼✈️#policeuk🇬🇧🇬🇧 #police #publicfreakout #badcop
Shops have the right to refuse these £20 coins. Yes IT IS a legal tender, however they don’t have to accept them. Retailers can legally refuse to accept commemorative high-value coins for regular transactions.

It is classed as non circulatory legal tender which means retailers do not have to accept it. They are a.lowed to choose what tender they accept. If he refuses to pay in any other way his debt is then escalated to the court as he can be charged with making off without payment. On another note why would you purchase a commerorative coin only to try and use it as payment. The auditor just wants to be antagonistic.

How many times have you went to a shop and they have a sign saying NO £50 NOTES. It’s up to the retailer to decide what to accept or refuse.

Yes, official The Royal Mint commemorative coins (like £5 crowns or £20 pieces) are legally classed as legal tender under the Coinage Act 1971, but shops and banks are not required to accept them for everyday purchases or cash deposits.
