I’m in Japan and live close to one of the photos posted. Hopefully this reaches him! I can ask around the granny gossip group if they know anyone that has a son that traveled abroad. It’s probably a long shot but worth a try.

I am from Singapore. Did an exchange at Miyazaki, Japan in 2005. We kept in contact till today. My host family and our family visit each other every so often. We would fly to Japan and they will fly to Singapore.

I had a similar situation with my host family in Japan. I lost contact with them and their old email address was no longer active. I tried changing the address to a more modern one, like @gmail.com, and luckily it worked. We’ve since reconnected! Hopefully that helps you too!
