I’m a Biologist in Epidemiology. I hope your cows are vaccinated. If you wake up in a room with a bat or any other contact best thing is to send the bat off for testing if not, you need to receive a HRIG and vaccines. If bat flies into you, you need to receive a HRIG and vaccines. If a bat scratches you or bites you you need to receive HRIG and vaccine. In South America and south part of North America -USA we have bats that test positive for rabies multiple times a year. PLEASE do not mess around with this.

I’ve also learned bats cannot take off from anywhere, they need a leap point to jump and fly.. so, it can’t just start flying off the floor like birds can.

I had a bat sneak into my house around 2am last year and I was woken up to him flying around my bedroom where myself and my 3yr old were asleep. My husband was luckily awake downstairs so I quickly covered us with the blanket and called him to come rescue us out of the room
