Ex CSI here, she is dead right about the burial, forensic topography has been used to find a lot of bodies. The issue with the sinking option, if its out at sea, salt water can corrode the rope and tidal movememt can cause abrasion, so the rope may give and the body washes up. Also, once marine life gets at the body it can cause parts to seperate so some of it might wash up sooner. Pigs is not great as bone fragments and teeth may pass without digestion.
