Meet Team Member 1 - Steven McMillan Q-1. Tell us your name and a wee bit about yourself. My name is Steven McMillan, founder of Bravehearts Boxing Gym. I’m a husband, dad, boxing coach and someone who believes ordinary people are capable of far more than they think. I love bringing good people together, pushing boundaries and creating challenges that give people belief in themselves. Q-2. What made you put your name forward for the London Marathon for Comic Relief? After the Long Way Doon, and seeing what a group of ordinary people could achieve together — raising over £70,000 for Comic Relief — I knew we had built something really special. When Comic Relief offered us London Marathon places, I wanted to be part of the next chapter of that journey and help lead another brilliant team towards something iconic. Q-3. What went through your head when you found out you’d made the Bravehearts team? I mean I had to pick the Team so if I didn’t get in I’d have been pretty shocked 😂 but in all seriousness i cannot wait to watch everyone grow in confidence over the months ahead and cross that finish line in London together. Q-4. What are you most looking forward to — and what do you think will challenge you most — on the journey to London? I’m most looking forward to the full journey: the training runs, the laughs, the fundraising, supporting each other through the tough days, and seeing the team become even closer. The biggest challenge will be balancing training with family, work and running the gyms — but that is exactly why doing it as a team matters. #braveheartsboxinggym #morethanjustagym #londonmarathon #team #fyp
