@nontoxicdad: Your receipt might be exposing you to more BPS than you think, and "BPA-free" isn't as safe as it sounds. Companies dropped BPA and quietly swapped in Bisphenol S (BPS) instead: a chemical shown to have hormonal and obesogenic effects comparable to, or worse, than BPA (Thoene et al., 2020). Thermal receipt paper is one of the biggest exposure routes there is. One study found it accounts for over 88% of a person's BPS exposure (Liao et al., 2012).
