This is great for if you are going downtown for a game and want to park somewhere reasonably priced… you take the people mover to where you’re going!

Unfortunately detriot is one of the only major city without a subway/train line :( GM bought the railway and shut down an electric rail line project)

i wish detroit had a subway system. i recently got back to michigan from london and the tube is so useful and not that expensive

The Detroit People Mover track is 2.94 miles (4.73 kilometers) long. It runs in a single-track, one-way loop around downtown Detroit with 13 stations.

Pretty small rn only really takes you around downtown. Supposedly there’s plans to connect it to eastern market midtown and corktown as well but no construction yet

There’s also the QLine that takes up Woodward Avenue to the New Center area. It travels past the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Most of our major cities have trains, there just isn’t usually much infrastructure between cities and nationwide. There are a few services (Amtrak off the top of my head) that do multi-state travel but our railway system is still severely underdeveloped
