The hate for “Rich kids” is so annoying. Like you hate them because their parents made good decisions and gave them good opportunities and set the bar high? Ok, haters gonna hate. I made myself rich, my kids will be rich and they will learn this exact mentality. Great post

Oddity :
I was gonna join a program that would be 30 hours of additional work a week for about $500 at the end of the semester. I told the professor about this excitedly and the man handed me $600 from his wallet so that I wouldn’t waste my time. I don’t know why that’s stuck with me so hard but it did.

I’ve actually found that many rich kids dgaf about money and they just do whatever they want. Yes some chase the high paying jobs and fields, but many others just dgaf and do art, film, anthropology, become a psychologist etc.

My daughter had her first job at Brandy Melville when she was in HS. When I told one of her rich friends she could get a job at Brandy her response was “I don’t want to work at Brandy Melville, I want to OWN Brandy Melville”. At 16 mind you.

Surround yourself with people who have a rich or wealthy persons mindset. I grew with the scarcity mindset. My dad was scared of stocks and said they always tank. I went into healthcare and was suddenly around people that invested and I saw how their parents had millions at retirement just by investing. I started doing the same and have gotten to half a million already at 40. Maybe not rich, but much wealthier than my parents. You can only learn new ways if living by getting outside your old environments

Connections always plays a role. If you’re not from a rich family and you’re in college you need to be collecting friends/mentors like Pokémon cards. If a whole week goes by without you making at least one connection you’re wasting time

If you get a low paying job make sure it’s a job that you can leave at the job. Meaning you have mental and physical capacity to do other things with your time. Whether they make you extra money or not. Otherwise you’re literally only working eating sleeping and using the bathroom.

Ahh the false lie of “OPPORTUNITY COST” incorrectly taught in school. Paying someone to do something cause you can make more doing something else, ONLY applies if you GO DO THAT OTHER THING IN THAT TIME. Most people don’t go do that other thing, they just take the day or time off.
