The Great Attractor is a region with an unusually high concentration of mass, including galaxy clusters such as the Norma Cluster (Abell 3627). Its combined ordinary matter plus dark matter curves spacetime, so nearby galaxies—including the Milky Way—acquire motion in that general direction. However, the Great Attractor itself is not the ultimate center of attraction. Large-scale cosmic flows are influenced by even larger concentrations of matter in the cosmic web, including structures farther away. ✨
