Knew some of these, but never knew that about the Calgary Flames. With the Titans, they actually had to clear the name with the Jets before they could about it because the NY Titans were a founding member of the AFL before they became the Jets.

the Canadiens use the French spelling for the early inhabitants of new France founded at Quebec in 1608. the alternate nick name "habs" is for les habitant which was the term used for the peasant class in new France and the c h crest stands for "club de hockey"

The Lakers were originally in Minnesota, when they were in Minnesota they didn't win shit there, then relocated to Los Angeles and won 17 titles since.
