you are correct. once you put packaged goods on the market you are a producer. not a manufacturer (thats different). and you need conformity docs of the used packages on file for at least 5 years. this counts for boxes, bubble mailers, tape, labels, filling materials... i got a´ entire video series on youtube that explains everything. @svbrickshop

as customer I ALWAYS put the box to paper waste and the plastics to plastic recycling waste handlers, so what is the problem really. I stand with small businesses. stop this CRAZY EC!

I signed a change.org petition going around earlier meant for European Parliament. I already lost the link but 3000 people signed it in the past few hours. There will be clarity on this soon. I heard nothing about this until yesterday and today. The way it has blown up on social media there will be a response.

I know it's in German, but they are very up2date with the topic atm and provide helpful information. in this video they said that there's been an update concerning the shipping label and it does no longer make you the producer of the package

i would rather like this thing would be put not on who ships and produces items that hes selling but on those who sells packaging materials they should be responsible, and have to label boxes with something, not the shippers

The new rules are so ridiculous. My Jobs supplier had to change box cartons for items and instead wrap things in plastic. EU sure does great enforcing «greener» laws😮💨

You are not wrong! It is targeted pretty much everyone unfortunately 😅 I personally don’t know what to do. Even on Google it says regardless where you are, when you ship the parcel into EU, it makes you a “producer” and everyone’s required to pay a fee😂

You are the producer. I use a pod company to ship my prints and I checked with them earlier about this whole thing. Basically they said: while we handle printing and shipping, because you sell personalised products under your own brand, you are treated as the producer under EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) rules. This means you should register for your own EPR number and provide it to your sales channels. They submit their own packaging data separately and cannot share its EPR registration for my use. Responsibility depends on who places the packaged goods on the market in each country, which varies with the fulfilment model. So it doesn’t matter if they print and ship it within the same country and the recipient, I’d still need to register

I am hit twice... buying specifically recyclable boxes... which are more costly, and then on top of this being subject to such fees is ridiculous.... income from Malta, it's a small country if I cannot offer my work to others outside Malta it's the end of me and many small businesses

It’s a tax on shipping in the EU. Basically introducing an import tax without calling it an import tax. This goes against the entire idea of an open market… which was the starting idea of the eu…If we don’t have this might as well disband the eu.
