I’m not gonna lie. I got scammed last year. Someone posted a small one bedroom home for rent. I went, checked it out, met them & everything. I sent $50 first for my background check. Then I sent my down payment & first month rent. When it came time for me to move in, come to find out they didn’t even own the home? The house was getting sold & im assuming they were the old tentants. They got me for a good $3k. Local pd, n FBI didn’t do shi. The real estate agent that was selling the house were no help either.

They got me 2 weeks ago and wiped out my bank account. I received a call from “my bank”…. after calling my bank directly, they informed me that they would never call your phone or send you email or text you. I didn’t know that, now I do! So if somebody says that they’re calling from the Bank hang up. He knew all of my recent transactions. 😳

I had hackers DEPOSIT 10K in my bank (on a Friday night) and by Monday had been making huge withdrawals from the middle east. It messed up my account so badly that still, 8 years later, my husband can't call in to do anything with our account because the original scammed had a male calling in to be my husband. I handle all the calls now. THANKFUL my bank (USAA) were on it and we lost no money, just a huge hassle for about 2 weeks!
