They grew in a time when nudity was not a big deal in a locker room. At the YMCA, every guy was required to swim naked, regardless of age. You grew up in a time that feared nudity, probably due to rampant homophobia.

I was 11 years old in 7th grade - students had to shower after gym or you got a failing grade that day. By the end of the second day it was pretty normal. Americans view nudity as being overtly sexual - Euroopeans realize that nudity just means you are not wearing clothes.

you've never lived in another country other than America huh. its not really your fault and your reaction is legit. just know its normal in many other countries.... in korea a group of guys can go to the sauna together and be completely naked the entire time talking about whatever. its just the societal norm.
