I hate that they think it's "just a quick blood draw". No it's actually 50 minutes per draw. 5 to check in and draw, 30 to clot, 15 to spin. So no I won't take you 2 minutes before I close!

And let’s not forget our, Amber, frozen, refrigerated and ambient samples. Send out deadlines and labels all have to match. Oh and I love those Cortisol draws that show up 40 minutes after cut off! 😳😂😂

How did the blood get into the tube!?! That’s a job itself especially if the patient is a hard stick. This coming from a phlebotomist who works in hospital..some mlts draw some dont! Everyone plays their part to ensure patient care and results! Thats the bigger picture!

I do phlebotomy at a hospital ED and our only responsibility is placing lines and collecting blood for testing. Very nice to not have to worry about the processing part.
