I served as a juror in a double murder trial in LA ten years ago where two forensic DNA analysts testified as expert witnesses. It was a cold case from 14 years prior and they only had circumstantial DNA evidence to prove the defendant’s guilt. One of the analysts crashed out so bad trying to explain these units of measure and eventually admitted that her jurisdiction in OC doesn’t even “go as high” as the units presented in the evidence. It was such a cringey mess and literally so uncomfortable to sit through.
