On June 16, 2023, 31-year-old Laura Ilg, who was 33 weeks pregnant, was fatally shot in the back by her 2-year-old son in Norwalk, Ohio. The toddler accessed a loaded micro 9mm Sig Sauer handgun left unsecured in a bedroom while she was doing chores. She called 911, but both she and her unborn baby died after an emergency C-section at the hospital.

Wait, so the 2yr old got out of his playpen, grabbed the gun shot the mom then got back into the playpen 🤔 I would think of how young the child is and seeing the mom in pain the baby would had stood by her.

Big fail on the response. In a situation like this, every second counts. It’s infuriating that the 911 operator didn’t already send EMS knowing full well she had been shot!!! And the cops investigating while she’s literally dying is just WILD!!! There was absolutely no sense of urgency to save her life!!!! The cops didn’t even call for EMS until they arrived on scene!! Then they all seemed to be taking their sweet a$$ time loading her into the ambulance! Huge response fail by every emergency responder involved!!! And like another commenter mentioned, it can take as little as 90 seconds to get a baby out in an emergency C-section! If there had been any real urgency or best efforts made to save her life, one or both of them could still be alive today! Definitely no best efforts were given in this situation! Y’all treated it like it was just another walk in the park! OMG I’m so mad. This is absolutely infuriating and heartbreaking to watch!!!

I hope the two year old gets placed somewhere where no one tells him what he did. I would kms if I ever found out I did that. Even if I was just 2. It wasn’t his fault cuz they should have secured the gun but, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. She died bruh.
