Sometimes it’s not only Igbo women that maltreat kids staying with them. I once stayed with a Hausa woman my uncle married. I didn’t even have decent shoes to wear. This woman would gather good shoes, clothes, and hair she no longer used, and instead of giving them to me, she would ask me to stand there, bring them outside, and burn them. Meanwhile, I had nothing to wear. I would literally be walking around with just one shoe. Sometimes she would send me on an errand to buy something without giving me any money. She would tell me to go and beg the seller to give it to me on credit. Mind you, she was a senior matron working at a Federal Medical Centre.I do cry every night before going to bed.it a lot parents please always check on your kids you give out to people most of them are suffering please,I can’t even say all what that woman did to me.🥺
