It’s because they don’t demonize capitalism for what it’s done. A real socialist or communist doesn’t believe in capitalism as an economic system for the people. I think Democratic socialist are on the right path, but you’re also talking about America. A lot of Americans have been brainwashed to believe that capitalism is the only system that can bring people out of poverty. Americans have been drilled that the free market is the only way, and the government and rich donors have pushed that narrative through social media and other outlets to brainwash people. If a Democratic socialist came out and said they support a full socialist ideology and not capitalism. They probably would never win. Americans are not ready to see the truth or hear the truth because they’ve been lied to for decades. That’s a long time. Once you start understanding your history on socialist countries and why they can’t survive and what capitalism and free market countries have done to them. Some people will start to wake up, but in America, it has been implemented into the American people‘s brain like a chip to think that communism or socialism always fails and is evil. They don’t seem to realize the system that they’re living in now is full of greed, power and evil, which is capitalism. I don’t mind socialist Democrats. The problem is is they don’t come out and say or maybe they don’t believe that capitalism is the root of the problem. That’s why a lot of communist or socialist do not support Democratic socialist because putting a bandage over a open wound that needs stitches will not help that wound. I think Democratic socialist is a good start, but it won’t be the end result we have to end capitalism.

Because we can’t go from fascism to communism there are steps and we obviously can’t do it ourselves so imo as a true socialist / communist I fully support the dsa as a means to help stop the bleeding and give us a minute to breathe and push hr further left or whatever we may need to do

Those communists have absolutely no movement, and I dont see these people out in my community. Its a coalition, it launders the reputation of communism and socialism in the country most propagandized against it. Thats all I care about.
