@bracilanewellness: Replying to @Carissa Rae 🩵 Boy Mom research doesn’t say “If you do everything perfectly, you won’t get gestational diabetes.” But it does say “Healthy habits can’t completely overcome the effects of the placenta or genetics but they CAN improve your body’s ability to handle the normal insulin resistance of pregnancy, lowering your risk.” #pregnant #gestationaldiabetes #pregnancynutrition #plussizepregnancy #pregnancy
Super active during pregnancy and a good diet. Still got a GD diagnosis 🤷🏻♀️

As a dog walker eating healthy and walking 7km+ a day, I still couldn’t avoid GD and was diagnosed early at 21 weeks.

Omg she’s not saying it’s a cure all. Obviously 70%-80% of the women still got it and that a huge number. But if you are able to reduce the risk even by 20% why not try to. So that was her goal as at already high risk pregnancy.

I worked out, hardly ate anything because of hyperemesis, no family history of diabetes - still got it

Carissa Rae 🩵 Boy Mom :
Yes well of course. I managed it very well because I watched my diet, but my diet didn’t change much with diagnosis. I luckily managed strictly with diet and was thankful to lose weight with pregnancy. But I don’t think GD was something I could avoid in that pregnancy either. 🤷🏼♀️

That’s amazing! I also read something recently about a good probiotic reducing risk of GD as well by about 30%. And I think inositol can help as well.
