Makes sense why I feel strongly to not go back to my family, they keep pretending like they didn’t do anything wrong and refuse to admit the truth on how they mistreated me. I want the connection, but the hurt and their lack of accountability won’t allow me.

yes absolutely. took me a while to learn this with my parents but they still are not ready to hold themselves accountable or even recognize the pain they have caused. so instead I choose distance and peace.. maybe one day.. but not today
