This is true. I’m 50 and it took me 20 years to realize I couldn’t change someone that I loved when I needed it so badly. So the best thing I could do for myself was walk away from a restrictive relationship of an addict and quit blaming myself. Hardest thing I’ve ever done but worth it for my own sanity and self preservation.
