@ashleyjshields: Despite what you’ve been told, you don’t have too much stomach acid.🙈
Be sure to 🔖 this if you struggle with heartburn or GERD!
Chances are, you actually have too LITTLE stomach acid (the only time you would have acid reflux swings is if you have H pylori)
Hear me out:
When the gut is inflamed and leaky gut is present, we don’t digest or absorb what helps us make hydrochloric acid or stomach acid.
Stomach acid is what will help break down food that backflows into the esophagus causing reflux. ❤️🔥
We have to work on healing the mucosal lining (aka intestinal walls) and not just cover up the pain with heartburn medication.
Addressing diet and stress promotes a more parasympathetic state (rest and digest) so the body can digest food properly. When the body is constantly in flight mode it lowers the function to digest food properly.
I make individualized protocols for each of my clients to heal and combat this properly! Most clients are dealing with some type of bacterial overgrowth as well, so there is no one-size-fits-all remedy!
Here are some remedies that can be very helpful for calming an inflamed gut (putting out the fire):
Ultrainflamx,
Gi Reponse
Aloe vera juice inner fillet
Marshmallow root tea.
If the doctor is pushing PPIs or antacids, know this: you can HEAL, not just bandaid! 🩹 Just like if you get a cut, your body heals itself.
Remember, these are only suggestions and everybody’s different!! living with daily pain is not fun nor should you be just dealing with it ! 🌿 Herbal remedies: #inf#inflamedguts#gastritisr#gerd
