The fix for this is not increasing the salary threshold, increasing it up to 40-50k will only block companies new hiring engineers/accountants and other genuine high skilled graduates etc. these dodgy ones will still pay40k-50k and ask employees to pay it back. Homeoffice should start cracking down on real scammers like these and make sure the sponsors are only reputed and genuine companies

getting a grad role in london has become impossible. the gov has passed laws that make hiring an international grad too expensive for companies, even if they are more than qualified. Unfair access to grad opportunities

I’m confused - the threshold for salaries here is £40k+; how do these shops meet that salary criteria? What SOC codes are they using? Getting a license to sponsor is one thing - actually sponsoring is different.

The system is broken. It’s impossible to get decent UK graduates in some disciplines and the aggressive approach to immigration means the UK isn’t a good place to work. I blame the elderly racists that dominate elections.
