I used to do the same. If I feel anxious now I try lock into a book or have my fav jams in my ears. Also changed my framing of it all. I see turbulence now as a big ride and have a fu*k it mentality. pretending like it’s little bumps in the road as if I was driving a car. Nothing I can do can save the plane, me getting panicked is just making my experience worse. so just gotta hand it over to the professionals and hope for the best haha 💕💕

yeah the more you teach your brain it doesn’t need to be on alert the less it stays on alert. I like to think of it like my brain is a guard dog and if I teach it to stop checking things out then it will stop barking at stuff bc it has no evidence to think that anything is scary

Sounds crazy but one of the things I did to help with my flight anxiety was watch plane crash documentaries - won’t be for everyone but it really helped me rationalise how accidents happen and how rare they actually are! I can now fly without feeling on the verge of a panic attack as I understand what’s happening at each stage of the flight

I do this allll the time, i wouldn’t say I’m a ‘bad’ flyer but I needed to hear this with a 6 week trip coming up and multiple plane journeys the anxiety is exhausting!!
