reminder that the chariot requiem soul switching thing is the first time in their entire lives doppio and diavolo have been separate and even though doppio was unaware he was an alter, it would still be extremely traumatic because DID alters cannot function by themselves as they are not fully fledged individuals. diavolo was probably caught up in adrenaline but doppio in all this was probably crying out for a voice that couldn't hear him and not understanding why it felt like a piece of him was gone.

as someone whos studying embaling I also like to think about How uncomfortable and disgusting wrong it must've felt for doppio to die in an actively decomposing body. Brunos body was shutting down completely, he couldn't hear he could barely see. Doppio died in a rotting corpse only feeling alone for the first time in his life.
