@cnn: Influencing is Gen Z's new glamour job. So if more than half of young people say they want to be influencers, why not study it? Arizona State University recently announced a bachelor's degree in content creation and Syracuse University is launching a content creation minor. The booming influencer economy — and the seemingly overnight success of some creators — have become a new career inspiration for many young adults. Goldman Sachs estimated that the creator economy could be worth nearly $500 billion by 2027. Freddy Tran Nager, an associate professor at University of Southern California, hopes new programs like ASU's content creation degree emphasize the social media industry's difficulties, too. 📸: David L. Such a joke, going to college to be an influencer. 20 years from now, these are the same people who will be bitching college is a scam, and everything is too expensive.
