Bit of a shit stirring post. Blown a hole in the piston is usually not an aftermarket part failure, apart from the injector that went rouge. You’re throwing unnecessary shade on others on here, cause everyone assumes it’s hack nation or Tim….

let's make one thing clear, it wasn't hack nation I never said it was but let's make that clear. Reason I refuse to call out the shop is because it's up to the customer to do so. He is the one not getting warranty on this engine. There were so many issues when this truck showed up to my shop. Fuel pump had loose bolts valve adjustment was so tight that we couldn't get feeler gauge to slide in so we could check the valve lash and some other issues

there's more to the story someone probably over fueled it after they got it back (put a tune on it) and burned a piston up i wouldn't warranty it either

The first major question is why would anyone spend 60k on a rebuild. For one that's more than double what it cost to build an ISX using all new parts. For two you can go out and buy another good reliable truck for 60k. Shops have absolutely gotten out of control with pricing. Not to mention the lies they tell you for free.

If it’s a valve problem then the machine shop who rebuilt the head is the problem. If it’s piston, rings or badly scored liner then it’s either parts issue or incorrect assembly. Boroscope the holes I’d say.
