Growing up the ladies in our church made something similar on Easter morning with Swiss cheese and breakfast sausage. As an adult I make it using cinnamon swirl bread.

Your call in show aired in the morning on FoodNetwork when I was going to college and living away from home for the first time. Circa 2000 😅 The kitchen was the hub of my Italian Portuguese family and my school apartment was so quiet…. Pretty sure ,you were my coping mechanism 🥰 and I can’t wait to try this sandwich with my own children and introduce them to you too Cheers
