The other black girls on the show experienced the same. I’ll never forget black Patsy and daughter being attacked, she looked to Holly for support and Holly could not be bothered. I feel Holly wanted Nia to be the token black girl and loved her proximity to whiteness. If we are gonna call out racism? Let’s talk about all of it.

if it wasn't Nia it would have been another black child because the show would have wanted a black child on the team and it might have been worse for that kid if they were from a different studio and Nia had her mom who was very strong and educated and her dad who always supported her and her brothers to keep her grounded her friends to keep her uplifted until most of the OGs left in season 4
