when my mom was pregnant with my brother (him & i have a 10 year age gap) they had said they were gonna name him jack for her entire pregnancy. so in school i made a pottery vase and put “jack” on the side of it. his name is ELIJAH. moral of the story, i don’t think something like that truly does anything unless you KNOW KNOW that’s the name. i waited to get anything personalized until after i had my daughter because what if she was born and didn’t look like the name i’d picked out? but that’s just my thought process, and everyone is different. if it will help you, i say go for it.

I bought a sweatshirt with his name embroidered but it killed me because I was so undecided on the spelling... Miles VS Myles. He's 15 months and I still question if he's "i" or "y".... It did help me make a decision though

I feel like having a nice piece of jewelry engraved is not going to make you commit to the name anymore if you truly want to change your mind. You’ll just have wasted the money. If you’re OK with money potentially going down the drain I think it’s a good way to TRY to commit to it and make it feel more “permanent” but at the end of the day it won’t actually matter if you genuinely want to change it haha.

Go to Starbucks a few times, use the name options for them to call out. Then, pick out of the ones that the spell right AND you like the sound of them best.

I usually stick to the name ! But I’ve changed the first letter ! I think if you feel it’s right and yall are set on it absolutely spelling and everything commit to a name !

I wasn’t named for a few months after birth. I was “Baby”. Granted it was a different country but it did take a lot of pressure off my mom and she felt really in love with my name by the time she chose it
