Please, let’s not forget Rai. She literally abandoned Maya after everything came out. A normal parent would’ve asked why she did what she did instead of just giving up on her. Maya was just a child. Everyone was so focused on Mia that Maya was left feeling completely alone. Later, she had no one—not even her brother—and ended up falling into depression. That’s on the parents.

You guys need to stop being so hard on the parents. Both Astrid and Levi were amazing parents.They tried their best with all three of the children, but the kids got distant when they got older. Glyn and Bran hid more. They hid everything, and that’s a part of their story.When you are so good at hiding,not even the closest person to you can tell, let alone parents.

I feel like Rina making her first generation characters a parent figure in her new series was wrong especially since she heavily depends on parents being bad or clueless about their kids mental health issues or problems. She basically made her characters who blamed their parents for their problems the problem in their kids lives 🤓🙁

unfortunately, it’s completely realistic for children not only to hide their mental health but for parents to fuck up. i think second generation books where the first gen parents are all absolutely perfect and have never fought in their life blah blah blah are boring and unrealistic and most of the time take me out of the stories. especially with RK writing dark romance? there’s going to be some errors in judgement made by the parents.

i think we’re being slightly too hard on some of these parents. i think we forget that the kids (especially the King kids) hid it all VERY well. Landon’s, Brans twin didn’t even know what was going because both Bran and Glyn were amazing at hiding their true feelings. Astrid and Levi tried their best, no parent is perfect and they are not mind readers. We see MANY times them check in on Glyn and Bran. The Volkovs did well too. Annika is pure sunshine, she was just sheltered considering she was a Mafia princess and Jeremy, despite what was going on with Lia turned out very confident and was close with his Dad. and yall better leave Rai alone too because she didn’t abandon Maya in any way shape or form, we see her and Kyle trying their best to take care of both girls during that. Aiden was harsh but i think he just cares too much and was extremely worried for Creighton. Unfortunately these books are realistic in the way of showing trauma and how not all parents are perfect and can only do their best. Asher though, he can fucking kick rocks

Never read her other straight books aside from Elite when they first came out, but it definitely shows how some parents can get so caught up in loving each other that they don’t pay enough attention to their children.

i think its okay every generation gets new problem even if they think they will be the best parents for thier generation kid but they do not and this goes on and on every generation kid thinks that there parents never did a good job they could better so in this case even if we thought they would be good for thier kids but they weren't especially levi and Astrid
