God is not identical to the people who represent Him poorly. Church hurt isn't proof that God failed you. It's proof that people are flawed. Churches are made of redeemed people, not perfect ones. That doesn't excuse harm. It explains why it happens. Bitterness will feel protective. Like strength. But it keeps the wound open. It replays the hurt without releasing it. Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was acceptable. It means you refuse to let it keep defining you. You can forgive and still set boundaries. You can release bitterness and still walk away from unhealthy systems. Healing doesn't always mean reconciliation. Sometimes it just means clarity. Jesus Himself was wounded by religious leaders.
