Enoboria is an interesting case study. She is smart and cunning. Consider the idea of how she won her games though. She bit the neck of the tribute who was about to kill her. Is that a move that somebody who is winning would perform? It sounds like an action of somebody desperate and who is about to die. Filing her teeth to be pointed was probably a post game Capitol decision.

I don’t think Finnick would have wanted to become a two time winner. He would be more of a commodity for sale. He wouldn’t want to continue down that road

I think Peeta is known as a not strong fighter because he was very injured in the first book, but in Catching Fire, he killed someone underwater from pure strengths. He is slow because he has a prosthetic, but he IS a fighter

Finnick dies in bloodbath (shot by katniss as she wouldn't have a reason not to without haymitch plotting to make them allies). katniss gets taken out by d5 male running up behind her while shes killing finnick. Beetee and wiress both die in bloodbath (beetee was attacked by careers getting the wire but was helped by Johanna and blight...eliminate those allies helping them and beetee and by extension probably wiress dies). Mags dies without Finnick or katniss alive as theres noone left with any strong connection to help her. Peeta gets picked off by careers when he emerges from his fight in the water as theres no finnick/katniss/mags to act as a deterrent to the careers pushing him. So apart from the randoms, in a non rebel plot scenario the only contenders emerging from bloodbath are johanna/blight, careers, Chaff, D6 morphing and the D10 male/d5 female who both die to arena later on

Knowing Mags as a character, if there was no rebel plot I think she jumps off the platform early to spare Finick from trying to help her

I'm not sure how much the finick is advantaged by the arena theory holds water, pun intended. for the initial moments, yes, he is one of the best swimmers so has no hesitation getting off the platform giving him a headstart to the cornucopia but after that a lot of the game is played under the cover of the jungle. it could still be down to who is smart enough to figure out the clock and avoid the active segments.

I don’t think the arena was designed specifically for Finnick. The arena was already built the only one that changed the rules for the quarter quill was Snow. But after the announcement I believed the capitol could sway it towards someone from district 4 winning.
