I filed chapter 7 using Upsolve and also Pro Se I paid 338 to file petition and 34.50 to submit an amendment to my schedules but it was worth it.

Last year I filled a chptr 7 prose. I requested the $299 filing fee be waived and it was approved. I paid to have my full credit reports run. I filed all of the reports using chat GPT. I had chat review my forms and helped me make corrections. I attended my creditors meeting, I got my discharge. I got to keep my home afterwards and continue to pay my house. I got the credit counseling fees waived as well. Do it yourself if you are broke and can't afford an attorney, it's not that hard. You just want to do a good job of gathering your documents and accurately filing your documents. you got this ❤️

But then what do you do when no apartment leasing company will rent to you because you can’t pass the resident verify because of the bankruptcy. Private owners have also been getting more picky and don’t want bankruptcy or evictions

What are your opinions on attorneys who charge a consultation fee and ones who don’t? Am I safer just biting the bullet and going with an attorney who charges a fee? I’m in Ohio and own a house that falls below the homestead exemption but I’m worried if I go with a cheaper attorney they won’t be as good as an attorney who charges a consultation fee.
